Burleigh Waters Landscape Renovation

Grotec’s Landscape Design team were employed by homeowners R & J to assist them with the landscape design planning of numerous aspects of this property that were ready for updating.

In particular, the waterfront retaining walls, paths and steps down the the waters edge. Once plans were completed, an engineer was consulted to ensure the dual retaining walls supporting the pool podium slab and other supporting structural elements would provide and offer long term stability.

This project was an exciting one for the Design as well as our alliance construction teams as there were many aspects to this project surrounding the residence involved in the overall project.

At the front of property our team demolished part of the front masonary fence to allow for the installation of a larger gate and concrete slab that would comfortably house the new motorhome arriving at the residence. A Murraya paniculata hedge was planted around the concrete slab to provide fragrant screeniung over time. In this area, an existing Washingtonia palm was retained and landscaped with plants to perfectly blend ito the space.

Along the northern side of residence, an outdoor shower and arbour was installed to provide interest and flow in an area that linked the front to rear.

At the rear, we designed and built a dual rendered and painted masonary retaining wall that supports the higher pool podium. The wall also provides extra drainage from the pool area overflow as well as a planted low hedge to soften the built form of the wall. The construction also included new tiled concrete steps and paths to provide a safe path down to the waters edge.

The concrete boat ramp offered potential to upgrade into a seating area close to the water. The fenceline and planter beds were updated and artificial gras was laid over ther concrete to create a comfortable and pleasant space to sit and enjoy the surrounds.
